Interesting….you didn’t mention the V-neck shape that I loved on my JV …or the fact it weighs a ton ( though some don’t mind, lots of Gibby players out there and we know what fat boys Pauls are)…had to sell mine sadly , the old back couldn’t hack it…I must say owning the JV was an eye opener to the MIM guitars and I didn’t hesitate to buy another MIM when I found a lighter one …I’ve currently got a MIM Deluxe Powerhouse Strat that is a gem and if it had a JV neck I’d be lost in love forever ..go ahead and use that line in a song if you like mate..:)
Best strat ever. Bought mine in 96 here in Austin and had Jimmie’s guitar tech do all the setups on it. I don’t know why it sounds so great, but I suspect it’s the Tex-Mex pickups. My son has it in LA currently and I’ve decided I’m going to buy another one. Great instrument.
